We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Six times in the Bible, we see a repeating phrase:
“Give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.”
Each occurrence appears in the Old Testament, in between wars and battles. Sometimes it takes a period of oppression to allow us to recognize and appreciate the reprieves in between, but it should remind us to constantly seek His face and stand up for Biblical principles.
It should remind us to give thanks for the blessings. The blessing of life. The blessing of knowing our Savior personally. The blessing of being able to pluck a Bible off our nightstand and read the Word of God without fear of persecution. The blessings that this Country has to offer. The sacrifice of many to maintain our freedom. And for the vast majority of us here in America, the abundance of food which has become the tradition of Thanksgiving; but it’s so much more than that…
Even in a sin-cursed world, full of death and hurt, we have a loving Creator Who cares about us. He has offered us an eternal blessing through His Son. Remember on this Thanksgiving to praise Him.
