We’ve all heard the Biblical account of David confronting the warrior Goliath in the name of the LORD.
However, many are not aware that the battle took place in the Valley of Elah, in Israel, between two mountains.
Remarkably, Israel had the high ground, on Tel Azeka – yet they were still intimidated by the worldly giant – afraid to stand up to the ungodly Philistines.
From the brook Elah, the young shepherd David chose five smooth stones and stood on the LORD’s side, defeating Goliath and the Philistine troops.
Today, as servants of the Creator Himself, we have the high ground yet many believers are intimidated by the unproven theories of evolution and the worldly Goliaths of theoretical science.
Will we stand by as those who cowered at the threats of the Philistines? Or will we stand boldly upon the foundation of our faith, and defeat the dangerous theories of evolution?
In the words of David just before Goliath’s defeat: “I come in the name of the Lord of hosts…whom thou hast defied…that all the earth may know that there is a God”
I’m David Rives…
Truly the Heavens Declare the Glory of God.
